external DAC
Hey, I have an Esoteric k-01x sacd /cd player that I'm thinking of running through an external PS audio direct stream mk1 that has been modified by richards electronics, I have been informed to make sure that the esoteric passes the sacd digital out to the XLR (AES/EBU), does anyone know if this does happen. On their website there is a schematic which from what I can tell would pass it through, but would like confirmation. Thanks for the input, Neil

I don't know, but I've always thought (maybe mistakenly) that DSD could only be output through an HDMI connection. There is a d.bob, digital break out box, GeerFab Audio - GeerFab but that requires DSD to be input by HDMI. I don't think you can output DSD from your Esoteric but it can't hurt to connect it to your PS Audio DAC and see how it sounds. |
