Ethernet Cables

Audioquest advertises a series of Ethernet cables they tout as improving sound quality. I have a BDP-1 digital transport that connects to the router via Ethernet cable.

Has anyone had experience with the effect, if any, of alleged higher quality Ethernet cables on sound quality in audio rigs where these cables are required, e.g., with streamers, digital ttansports, etc.? I am skeptical, but I was about power cables too but that disappeared soon enough.

Many underestimate the role of cables in a high-end system, but properly shielded Ethernet and USB cables are essential for getting the best out of streaming. I'm happy owner of Missing Bond Ethernet Cables (€300) made in France). It's an exceptionnal value for money. Previously I was using Audioquest Diamond RJ45, but in my system (Atma Sphere, SounLab, Abbas, Eversolo) cables made by Missing Bond sound even better. You do not need to invest thousands of $$$ into cables to get excellent results, but you do need to invest some money into properly shielded audiophile cables.

I just bought their Vodka Cable. I’m very happy with it. I used this link to set-up my DAC, internet switch and cables: Alpha Audio

Yes, digital cables such as ethernet cables and usb cables can affect sound quality just as much as analog cables. It is easier to discern in a high resolution room.

Power cables don’t matter if you have a high quality power conditioner. It just needs to have sufficient shielding to prevent noise from leeching back on your run from a conditioner to equipment.
