ETHERNET CABLES

When using ethernet for hooking up streaming devices and dacs, what cat level of  ethernet cable should be used. Is there any sonic improvement by going to a  higher dollar cat 7 or 8 cable?

Extended the house in 2009, and had a telephone line put through to the lounge. Most probably Cat 5 cable. Phone is no longer...

Was easy for the electrician change the wall outlet from phone to ethernet cable.

I've read in a few places to make sure the last ethernet cable to your streamer is your best cable. Which I've done.

I'm pretty sure Pete at Triode Wire Labs does a 30 day guarantee for standard lengths.

4 posts? And snarky with it?

Your supercilious attitude would fit in well at ASR.

I like non-noise. And what he thinks. And how he approaches this hobby.

Fred shows the worst of this place, of this hobby. Have learnt to not read anything he says. Good thing too, because my system is sounding the best it ever has.

I know. Start your own thread Freddy, saying whatever you believe. People will come.

...getting better with every small improvement...

I have a system where a myriad of small improvements have given significant improvement to my digital system.

Black Ravioli Pads, Synergy Research fuses, Akiko Audio products, Audience cables, Triode Wire Labs ethernet cables, Schumann Resonators, mains purifiers, LAN Isolators, Mad Scientist USB cable, fo.Q tape, digital cables, modded network switches, linear power supplies, grounding boxes, Add Power products.

Improvements before I added a new streamer, Dac, DDC,and  external clock to the mix.

You've said your piece; stated your opinions numerous times. And been 'holier than thou,' in your attacks.

Are you trying to save me? I never asked you to. You are on the other side of the tracks, and your opinions are distasteful as is your arrogance.

What happens now? Does your vitriol diminish? Or is this your soap box? A crusade to save us? I neither need you nor want you.

A better man would bow out, having stated their truths...

What is a mesh network is and how is it set up.

Perhaps the younger cousin of a mesh network is a wifi extender. That was my plan to do this, as I was not able to run ethernet to my system. After research, I bought a TP-link WiFi Range Extender AC2600 RE650. This has an ethernet out, so I could easily connect to my streamer.

Then I found out that you can use a phone cable for ethernet, so got my electrician to change the plugs. That was a problem solved.

I still use the extender in a bedroom, with a second system.
