I have never seen a front panel display indicating the language. I do not think there is data in the bitstream to inform the AVR what the language is. Only the OSD from the player knows that.

English PCM 5.1 for Blu-Ray Movies
Hello all!
When I am listening to a English PCM 5.1 on a blu-ray movie, the front display of my Onkyo TX-NR905 shows "MULTICH". I was expecting the front display of the 905 showing English PCM 5.1 and just wanted to know if that is correct on my 905.
I using ONLY a HDMI cable running from the blu-ray player to the receiver and HDMI cable from the receiver out to the TV.
This is on the blu-ray movie "300".
