EMM Labs XDS1 Question

Happy Holidays to all!  I have an EMM Labs XDS1 (v.1) that over the past few years has become particularly selective about the SACDs it wants to play.  It always has had problems reading the latest incarnation of Reference Recordings' SACDs (the player reads "no disc"), but recently it has had the same problem with some discs it previously played with no problem.  Anyone else have this problem with an EMM Labs or Esoteric player using the Esoteric/TEAC transport mechanism and heard of a fix?  EMM Labs didn't have a fix for it when I contacted them, other than to try to clean the laser, which so far hasn't worked. Thanks for any insight.

Even though Esoteric is owned by Teac, they both make very different transports. The Teac labeled transports are the cheaper ones. If you know the part number of the laser assembly, perhaps you could contact the original manufacturer? You can also probably get one off eBay, direct from Japan. My 12 year old Esoteric player reads both CD and SACD perfectly and very quickly and it gets between 15-20 hours of use every week.
