Electrocompaniet EMC 1UP upgrade: worthwhile?

Have you compared an earlier Electrocompaniet EMC-1UP (24/192) with the most recent version (upgraded power supply, etc.)? What were your impressions? Also, did you find the addition of the Spider Clamp to be advantageous?

I am also interested in this question. The upgrade is $800. I haven't heard convincing feedback that the spider clamp matters.
