eARC when using Roku

I have a Lyngdorf mp 60 2.1 that is currently connected to a Roku ultra via HDMI for both audio and video.  Is there any advantage connecting The Roku directly to the tv, a LG 2.1 hdmi, via HDMI and running the audio back to the Lyngdorf  from the tv using the eARC HDMI of the LG tv. Since the video from the Roku is not processed and is only passed  through, by the Lyngdorf a direct connection to the tv for video maybe better?   Please advise. Thanks.

Ok so you are running video/audio from Roku to the TV then running the audio back from the tv to the opposite 205, is that a processor/receiver?  If that rout is correct are you using eARC and if so do notice any advantage on two channel, Tidal etc, playback?  What I am trying to determine is the advantage to EARC other than its bidirectional ability.  I am trying to maximize two channel playback of uncompressed audio files,PCM, using streaming sites such as Tidal and Amazon..  As far as video the processor that I have the Lyngdorf 60 2.1 does not process video it just allows it to pass through without diminishing the signal.

Thanks.

Ok I understand your set up. Do you notice an improvement in audio using the audio return channel back to the Oppo vs direct connect Roku via HDMI to the Oppo?  Is that Enhanced Audio Return or ARC. Do you set the digital output on the Roku for two channel uncompressed files?  In your opinion would I have anything to gain in two channel playback If I direct connect the Roku to the TV and use the eARC to push the audio signal to the Lyngdorf.  The only reason I ask is because all the cash I put out for this system which functions as stereo and home theater function.

Thank you

Ok thanks for your input. Its seems like there is much guess work when it comes to optimizing the audio.  Much  money is spent for items downstream from the signal ie. ac cords, speaker and interconnects and the issues may be the signal path that is  chosen.   I think I will keep the connection of the Roku to the processor for now based on your experiences.  Do you have any thoughts on the higher end ethernet and HDMI wires?  Thanks for your time.

Ok thanks. The video pass through the Lyngdorf seems to be good with the exception of running the game PC video through the Lyngdorf.  I think that the Nvidia variable refresh rate software of the GPU causes issues with the video pass through of the Lyngdorf.  Otherwise pretty happy with the Lyngdorfs audio is superior to the Mcintosh MX 122 it replaced. I read what Unsound wrote regarding wire world HDMI and just ordered the fiber optic 2.1.  See what happens

Ok I bought the fiber 2.1 optic HDMI cable from wire world pretty pricey.  The cables I have now, 2.1 Austere, work but the run from the PC GPU to the TV at 4k 120 hrz creates some image flutter, small isolated vibrating lines during game play.    So if the Wireworld HDMI cleans the image problem up I will think about buying more.   As far as Roku/Tidal I am surprised how well it sounds in two channel playback.  This is the first time I used Roku and Tidal after switching amps and processor and the sound quality is superior compared to my old system. The audio improvement may also by attributed to playing uncompressed files.  Anybody have an opinion on ethernet cables?

Thanks
