I have a DV XX2 mkii and I used to have the same phono pre. I think what you're saying is that you're stepping your gain up from the 43dB provided by the Cary by 26dB for a total gain of 69dB. I'm currently using a Herron phono pre and dialing it in with a Zesto Allasso SUT. I find the best settings for me are with 65dB gain and loading at 30-40 ohms. 69dB seems a bit too hot perhaps.
Dynavector XX2 mk2 loading suggestions for Step Up transformer?
High everyone I recently got a new Dynavector XX2 MKII cartridge for my Oracle Delphi MKIII fully upgraded with an SME 4 Tonearm. I also just acquired a Music first audio Classic V2 MC Step-Up unit. Which has 6 loading positions all the way up to 115ohm. Has anyone had any experience loading A Dynavector XX2 MKII cartridge before and if so How much load do you use on it. I am currently have it set to the 1/20 ratio which is 26db, through my cary SLP-98P phono preamp. Let me know your thoughts and experience?
