Can't speak to the VPI, but a I use a Walker speed controller with my Basis Ovation for the same reason you cite about changing the pulley, it works very well.
Does VPI ADS work with Basis Gold Debut?
Anybody out there have experience with adding a speed control to a Basis Gold Debut? Will an ADS (VPI) work with this turntable? I would like not to have to change the pulley for 45rpm., plus take advantage of more stable speed. Basis own speed control is beyond what I'm willing to spend, and of course Basis will not answer whether the ADS will operate with their turntable.
