A couple of years ago I invested in a set of Kimber cable speaker, cables, upgrading from standard 12 gauge monoprice speaker cord. It definitely made a difference in a good way. More sound stage volume and detail at the same level of power.
I then changed to a different set of speakers which were at a higher sensitivity level, and slightly more forwards then the previous speakers as well as incorporating a PS20 audio power regenerator with requisite power cable upgrades.
The result? The character of the sound was not better. The voices whether home theater or in music was too forward. The imaging in 2 channel was less clear.
Perhaps you know where this entry is going…. I reverted back to my 12 gauge monoprice speaker cable, and the imaging improved and the voices were clearer.
Cardas’ website says more expensive cables do not necessarily yield better sound and yes, depending on your sound system and what’s on you’re looking for or think you’re looking for more does not appear to be better. .
