I recently purchased a Bryston BCD-1 cd player. I'm not familiar with the digital and or optical outputs in the back. What are they used for and what, if any, advantage would they give?
They are for use with an external DAC or other type of digital processor. For example the Meridian powered speakers will take a digital signal. If you are using it as a player into an amp by the regular analogue outputs you can ignore them.
