Desktop speakers - KEF LSX II LT?

Hi

I want to buy good speakers to 1200-1300 USD. In the future I can buy sub, but I'm not sure if that is necessary in a room this size.

Room: very small, 16m2. Speakers will be quite close to the wall, around 20 cm. Very close to me either.

Application: Music, mostly bass-heavy (metal, rock, electronic). Occasionally movies and PC games. However, I wouldn't want the treble to suffer in favor of the bass.

Music source: mainly PC, but want wifi connection so occasionaly I can play with phone (Tidal, Winamp, i.e. high quality files; Spotify)

Country: Poland

KEF LSX II LT are my choice at this moment.

Other choices that people recommended me: Q acoustics M20, KRK ROKIT 5 RP5 G5, Debut 3.0 B6.3 + AMP, Triangle BR03 CONNECT, Auratone 5C

Doing what I did here

Office System 2 | Virtual Listening Room

Is much better than putting anything on a desktop. Today, I had a former audio engineer and audio recording console builder over to demo a DAC and preamp.

We were talking about how bad it is to put speakers on a console or desk. He said the way I have it with the speakers behind me with unobstructed path to the ears is definitely the way to go.

I was also told to ditch the KEF KC62 sub since my office space is too small.

The office speakers are used Magnepan Mini ($1000) + Schitt Kara F ($700) + Schitt Wotan ($2000)
