Desktop preamp DAC for Focal Shape 50

I am setting up a nearfield desktop system with Focal powered monitors. These normally run about $1500/pair

I am looking for a desktop preamp with a Dac. I need a USB digital input, using a desktop PC as the source.  I would prefer balanced out connections.

I'm not sure what price point I should be looking at. Here are a couple examples on my list.

DacMagic 200 $500

Neo iDSD 2. $900

Used Denafrips Athena $1400

I would look in the Schitt product lineup. I have a Schitt Mjolnir V3 that sounds really good. I use it as a second preamp in my Livingroom, but it is perfect on a desktop (no remote).

The Bitfrost DAC is supposed to be almost as good as the Yggi+. I have 2 of the Yggi+ and I think they are a fantastic bang for the buck.

Actually The Saga Plus looks like it might be a good choice. I don't need a headphone amp. I kind of wanted to avoid having to buy a separate preamp and DAC though.

The Saga preamp is not balanced but the Kara is. Also the Saga is a passive preamp no gain! I would keep the preamp and Dac separate.

The Focals came in and I have to say I am very happy. With the lack of a rear port I have them pretty close to the rear wall and they sound fantastic.

I'm currently using my Jolida fusion dac preamp. I love this preamp but the dac is dated and I need a desktop solution. For now I'll enjoy this setup!
