I saw your questions on SH forums a few days ago, and answered what I could there. There are answers from others too.
Just picked up my Degritter II + a second tank and after reading the Mk II user manual, I have some questions:
It looks like 3 revolutions ( 5 min 15 sec) is equivalent to the medium cycle in the Mk I, correct?
Are most people using 3 revolutions for new and light to average dirty used vinyl? If not, why?
In the Mk II, are 4 revolutions ( 6 min 45 sec) equivalent to the Heavy cycle in the Mk I?
When using the Two Tank Rinse program, how long is the washing duration during the rinse phase? Is it a percentage of the initially programed wash duration or just additional time? If additional time, how does one program for that?
For those using a second tank for rinsing, when calculating total wash + rinse time / US exposure, do you use less revolutions in the wash phase, taking into account the additional wash time during the rinse phase? If so, for light to average dirty used vinyl, how much total time are you using and how are you dividing it up?
Noise and time aside, is there any advantage/ disadvantaged to drying with a higher fan power and shorter time vs lower fan power and longer time? What drying settings are you using and why?
I have read that for new vinyl, some people only use their Degritter with DW and skip the surfactant. Any pushback on this? Has anyone done a comparison of both methods for new vinyl?
Thanks for any help on these questions....
ps- I also posted these questions on the Steve Hoffman Music Forums.
