Definitive Technology Demand D17???

I have an option to get a nearly new pair of these for a decent price ($1400). Prices are all over the place on these. 

I need something with really good scale and musicality for a large room. I am replacing Harbeth SHL5’s in my living room. They are wasted in my space and will go in my basement. Will the Def Techs do the trick, you think? I see mostly home theater reviews.
