Definitive Tech home theater Question

Hello All,

SETUP:

Denon AVR-S930h

def tech BP-9060 towers

def tech BP-9080 Center and surround

USE:

Movies, TV, Games

QUESTION:

I was at a friends house yesterday who runs a Sonos sound bar and he played a scene from the Mandilorian to show me his new TV. I was blown away by how intense the bass is when the ships were flying and firing their guns.

I played the same scene when I got home and the sound was MUCH flatter. Can anyone help me trouble shoot why?

Oh gotcha. Yeah it’s worked for years. Though we had a child almost two years ago so am now just listening to it louder again. I don’t know what’s going on.

Thank you for that. Since I posted I’ve been trouble shooting and only the sub in the front right speaker is firing. Though the other speakers lights are on and the normal sound is coming out of them.

To be honest I don’t know what LFE is.

Yeah that doesn’t make any sense at all as your speakers have prodigious bass. Do you have the LFE input on the speaker connected to the Denon, and have you checked the volume level of the speaker’s built-in subs? Are the subs working and is the LED lit? Make sure you have the Denon connected to the speaker level input and not the height speaker input (I know this is stupid but just trying to cover all bases). If all this looks good then it might be a setting in the Denon’s menu options so make sure you have the LFE output enabled, you have the front L/R speakers set to full range (looks like your center speakers could maybe run full range too), no compression is enabled, etc. Look through the manual for other menu options and troubleshooting ideas. Something’s amiss somewhere here, just gotta do some digging to find it. Hope this helps a little, and best of luck finding the problem.
