Deals at Axpona on amps

I'm going to Axpona this year. Can good deals on amps and preamps be had there?

Ask the exhibitors if they will be selling their demo units on the last day. Offer to put a deposit on the one you want. Don't be shy. If you believe you are lucky, ask around on the afternoon of the last day. I saved amost $1,000 on a demo unit of a kit demo that was built by the designer of the product with all the optional goodies. Good luck!

@travisg, A very simple solution. I suggest you ask them if they would sell you the item at a lower price since it is a show demo. Of course, you need to confirm your purchase INCLUDES a warranty and all parts are included in the package (remote, power cord, manual, original shipping box, etc.). Sometimes these items get lost during an audio show. You also need to INSPECT the item to ensure it has no scratches, dents, or any other similar issues (units can get damaged at a show). Obviously, if you are local, you can take you item home. If the unit needs to be SHIPPED, you need to confirm who is paying and WHEN will it be shipped. Sometimes the actual shipment to you takes a week or more. Please be careful.

For your piece of mind, I would also confirm there are repair faculties in the USA for your item. Since it is show demo, you need to decide what is a fair price for you. In other words, how much are you willing to pay for the item. Please be prepared to walk away if the price is too high. You can always come back and offer a lower price. You also need to ask how should you pay for it. Sometimes they will accept a credit card, or they might prefer cash.

CUSTOMER SUPPORT: I always ask if I need help installing the unit, or have other questions, who can I call. In other words, who will support me for after sale related questions or issues.

Saturday audio usually has a lot of item for sale amps included. If you like the amp you are listening too, you can ask them if they are willing to sell it to you as demo, Sunday after the show  you can pick it up.

I would look for "local dealer" rooms.  I was at RMAF one year and there was a local dealer in a room giving 20% discount show deals.

The manufacturing vendor rooms are not there to sell but to market the product.
