Dealers Who Refuse to Honor Their Published Web Prices

This is the 2nd time I've had this experience. Yesterday I was on the Audio Advice website and they had advertised an Auralic Aries G2.2 for $3,899. I called with my credit card to order - was told this was an error and that an "old web page" had inadvertently been published. How does this happen? They took down the web page - but I have the saved screen shot for $3,899.

When I'm in a grocery store or a department store, these stores aways honor the sticker price - even if it's an error. I don't know what other audio stores with integrity would do. I know what Audio Advice did - and I have the screen shot to prove it.

Anybody with similar experiences?

You are most correct.  It is illegal to bait and switch and even an honest mistake should be honored within reason, but how big of a difference in price are we talking about? $2200 is like a 35% percent difference.  If that box of Flakey Critters is mispriced at Kroger by the same percentage your talking less than a dollar.

Oh, and if you really really want the 2.2 and are not just blinded buy the great price, I’d continue to push the issue with AA.

I like my g 2.2  and have dealt with both and not had a problem. I always cringe when I order something on line and hope it shows up.i have not had to talk to credit card co to decline payment. Good luck in your search.

Thank you all for responding. Audio Advice said they are no longer carrying the line.

Excellent customer service would be "We are no longer carrying the line - but it was our mistake and we want to make it right. We will get the unit for you at the advertised price".

Poor customer service is "We are no longer carrying the line. Our bad. Have a nice day".

Had a similar issue with a dealer in Nashua, NH. I auditioned 2 pairs of speakers in the 12K range. When I expressed interest in purchasing one of the pairs, I was told that the price had gone up. I asked if he would honor his advertised price and he said no. I left without buying them. I occasionally check his website and the old prices are still up on his webpage. Certainly, no update is coming soon. I don't do business with people I can't trust.

jeffex00 - I agree with you, you can't do business with people you can't trust. I'm in Augusta, GA but used to live in Tyngsboro, MA on the MA-NH border. Take a ride soon to the Kancamagus Highway and enjoy the spectacular fall foliage! I miss New England in the fall - especially the apples. You can't get good apples in the south!
