DCS Debussy linked to a Lumin T-1 streamer and Esoteric X-03 Cd Player

Just a long shot …..

I have the opportunity to purchase a DCS Debussy DAC at a great price and was wondering if it would be a sonic improvement if it replaced the DAC that is in my Lumin T-1 streamer and Esoteric X-03 CD player?

Please don’t ask me to try and audition the DCS, (I can’) (that’s why I’m asking for some insight.  I really just want to hear from anyone who has first hand experience with one or all of the 3 components listed above.

 Many thanks!

On paper it SHOULD be better. That’s all I got.

I used to be a robot but I quit.

I am interested in reading more about you guys that own an Esoteric X-03 player as well. Staying tuned.

How long have you owned the X-03se ?  What other player(s) did you own prior to the Esoteric?

I have a dCS Paganini DAC fed by a Network Bridge.  I bought a Lumin X1 to replace two boxes with one but preferred the sound of the dCS and kept it.  IIRC, Lumin was more detailed with larger soundstage (it was massive!) but tonally the dCS was more natural with more contrast and true timbre.  Lumin sounded more homogenized with less nuance.  I think the dCS also did better with instrument placement with orchestra.  I also tried the X1 as streamer only, going into the Paganini DAC, and preferred that to the X1 DAC.
