DAC newbie question

I have a integra dhc 9.9 with an outlaw 7100 thru bookshelf von schweikerts vr1’s front and ctr and mb quart rears. I am looking to run an iPod using uncompressed files thru it. I have a wife and two kids so budget is an issue. I have nothing against used audio gear as everything with the exception of my speakers are used. Would the dac allow a usb input with a coaxial or analog output? Would an oppo bdp-95 suffice? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

You will have better results getting the inexpensive Pure i20 on Amazon for $85. It has excellent DAC inside and excellent digital output as well. It is a digital iPod docking station. Make sure you have the 30-pin connector on your iPod. I have compared it to $6K DACs and it holds its own. Very low jitter.

I also have a OPPO BTW.

If you replace the AC adapter with a fast-reacting linear power supply, I think it might be almost world-class.

There is an Oppo BDP-95 here on Agon for $725, you'd do well to grab it before it's gone. Also, there is a BDP-103 for sale here at $425. Another stellar performer at a very good price...

There are so many things to do to the Oppo 103 before it really starts to open up and sound balanced and focused I almost don't know where to begin. Suffice it to say it's a long way to Tipperary.
