I never heard of him, but if he got them together, I love him. I was just listening to one of those Getz discs two days ago. Still fresh as a daisy, and the sound is great.
Creed Taylor RIP
Not sure this was mentioned as I have just spent two weeks at the Mass General Burn center getting a skin graph. But on August 22, 2022 Creed Taylor passed away at the age of 93. He started two iconic labels Impulse and CTI. His emphasis was always on a high level of recorded sound quality. He was responsible for putting together Getz, Jobim and Jao Gilberto together which started the Bossa Nova craze in the USA.
