Cornwall IV vs. Volti Rival, Razz; Razz v. 1, 2, 3 -- what changed?

Looking for efficient speakers. I had the opportunity to listen to a Cornwall IV yesterday. It was run on nice tubes (Primaluna 400 EL34s) with a bluesound node streamer/dac.

QUESTION: I'm curious if anyone has compared CW IV with Volti Rival of Razz. Thoughts?

QUESTION 2: Anyone know what changed in the Volti Razz when it moved from v. 2 to v. 3?

Thanks

I am considering the Lucera. It's high praise that @hdbc3036 would sell Sashas to get a pair.

I am not the best one to tell you how to integrate these two systems. I don’t have any big screens, processors, or multi channel amps in my room. Blasphemy in my world.

Haven't heard Greg's speakers but intimately familiar with Cornwalls and other things Klipsch.

It's my experience that three things will improve the performance of Klipsch horn speakers, especially the larger offerings.

Sit far enough away for the drivers to integrate. Horns are not near field, or even mid field speakers.

Do NOT toe the speakers enough so that they are firing directly at you. Even the newer speakers like the CW IV sound better when the axis crosses well behind your head.

SET amps bring out the best in Klipsch speakers that are efficient enough to accommodate them. A good 300B amp with stout transformers and power supplies will handle that 15" driver of the Cornwall with no problems.

. Modern klipsch speakers have advanced quite a bit over their predecessors, some of which could run you from the room. Even as good as the new ones are, they aren't for everyone.

Any remarks on the Lucera? If you guys already posted something I missed it.

Thanks @doyle3433

I’m not speaker shopping at the moment, but I’m keeping them on the short list to audition when possible. Greg is only a little over six hours away and it gives me a good reason to visit Nashville again.

Greg was a klipsch owner for many years. He was also a regular on the klipsch community forum for a long time. When he decided to start making speakers it was received with mixed reviews by the members there. So eventually I think he just bowed out.

Looks interesting. But truly an unknown and probably no way to audition unless you are local.

I can’t speak to the quality of the cabinets themselves, but the veneer used on modern heritage speakers is very thin and prone to scratching and damage very easily. Many people have reported this as well.

Also remember just because something is made here doesn't automatically mean it's of higher quality. We know how to do "cheap" in the USA too....

Well I have been in the klipsch camp for many years until recently. And if I decide to go back to horns again, a Volti product is definitely in my future.

From what you describe about the  build quality and sound quality of the Fortes, I would have moved on long ago. Are they on the Audiogon chopping block as we speak?

I am a big proponent of separating home theater and two channel music. If not, compromises will be made. However, in your situation, having two channel and home theater in the same room but using different speakers doesn't make sense. I understand your electronics are different for each pair of speakers, but what would the Fortes do for movies that the most excellent sounding Volti speakers won't do? Having a home theater speaker sitting directly next to a two channel speaker is lost on me. I just don't get it.

So @silverfoxtv1800 makes another post and immediately deletes it. Bizarre behavior.

Well if he was banned, he couldn’t even log in and post. So why would moderators keep deleting every post within minutes instead of banning him? Makes no sense.
