Convert Tri-Planar RCA to Balanced Connection
I know there have been various post on this but I'm just seeking clarification.
Looking to convert my Tri-Planar VII U2 from unbalanced RCA to Balanced XLR.
I was going to use RCA to XLR adapters so as to make the change easily reversible.
The ground and shield wires are all connected together in the black junction box. So my question is, all I have to do for a balanced connection is to run the tonearm ground wire to pin 1, along with the cartridge positive and ground wires to pin 2 & 3 to get a balanced connection?
Does it matter that the shield wires between the black box and the RCA connectors don't connect to the existing RCA connectors?
