Continuation of earlier Vienna Acoustics thread.....

Posted recently about putting my diminutive Bach Grands back into the main system after a long while.  Amazed again by the imaging, instrument separation, and palpability from these little floorstanders.  Super smooth and engaging for long listening sessions.  Just love what I am hearing (especially with a new REL t9x to help fill things out!) but would love just a little more.  The same sound profile but just a bit more dynamic.

So, I am looking for recommendations for speakers that will give me a little more of the same.  Larger VA models would be the obvious path - ie. Mozart or Beethoven - but there are none around to demo anymore.  No local dealers in the Chicago area.  Very little in the used market also.  Maybe Sonus Faber, Vandersteen, Aerial, Silverline, Harbeth?  Several that come to mind from lots of reading.  Budget around $3k used.

Amplification varies between Hegel H360 to Rogue Atlas kt120 to McCormack DNA .5.

Thanks!

Go to simply stereo and check out SF. I have the beethovens and tried to replace them with the strauss and while the strauss has more bass the resolution was a step backward.

The other speaker I found that has that VA quality in the mids with the excellent resolution without being hot up top are Meridian but being fully active what would you do with the hegel?
