Unlikely to hurt anything, but I'd test for a left-over sonic signature. OTOH, I hear a left-over sonic signature with Caig Deoxit and alway follow it with a good cleaning with 92+% isopropyl alcohol. FWIW, unless the contact is corroded, I find isopropyl and a soft cotton cloth or swab to give excellent results.
