Conrad Johnson Pv-2ar or Pv-10al for twice the price?

$800-$1,000 is an large amount of money for a limo driver  to spend on a preamp. I may be able to get a Pv-2ar for half of that.  

Should I save my pennies for longer and spend it on a Pv-10al?  Or will I be satisfied for a decade with the pv-2ar? 

I wont be able to compare the two side by side.  My guess is that the differences may be perceptible, but not important.
