I've done enough research on such a WiFi Adapter - to know now... that there are no USB "Dongle" WiFi adapters that are reliable, certainly with Linux OS on the Bryston BDP's...
Compact Portable Adapter to Support 2 Functions on BDP?
This is more of a techy question for IT types than Audio types - but - any help would be appreciated.
Would like to connect a compact, portable wifi adapter to my Bryston BDP-2&3 to allow me to control it via Manic Moose via iDevice and also allow me to stream via my Frontier Modem/Router.
That is... the portable router would connect to my Frontier Modem/Router via WiFi and my iDevice would connect to it via WiFi also, allowing me to control the BDP from my iDevice as well as stream audio files from the internet via Frontier. I would prefer to avoid an ethernet cable to connect the adapter - just connect via a USB connector, maybe, without any ethernet cable or USB cable.
One additional consideration is that the OS on the Bryston BDP is Linux, not Windows.
I currently use an old Netgear Router connected via ethernet to control the BDP, but it does not also stream - since it’s a separate network. I want something to do both functions, that’s compact, simple PNP, and reliable.
I assume something like this might work, but I’m not sure they will also support Linux on the BDP. My old Netgear / Ethernet modem does.
Appreciate your thoughts, if you have this type of experience....
