You have under estimated your choice! The Panny TH-42PX50U is not an HD-Ready Display, It is a full blown HD-TV. That Panny has a built-in HD tuner, SD tuner, QAM digital cable TV tuner and supports cable-card which can eliminate the need for a digital Cable-TV set-top-box.
When you add in the included table-top stand and integrated speakers, the Panny comes out tops on my bargain scale.
I own the Panny TH-42PD25 EDTV Plasma which has the same features as the PX50, except it is EDTV resolution and not HD. I love it! I'm a hugely value conscious consumer and I feel the $2400 I paid was a bargain!
