Class D amps seem poised to take over. Then what?

I am certainly biased by my lifetime final amp being a Class D. But I know that after 30+ years of development, Class D seems to be on a high plain. I know there are now many, many companies focusing on Class D and, maybe, a good handful already as good as it gets. My Class D amp is as smooth and beautifully musical as a great tube amp and as punchy and detailed as a great SS amp. I am satisfied and done with my search. A class D amp has effectively taken me off the amp merry-go-round. It’s about time after 50 years. And, for me, this Class D is a milestone. Will all other classes of amps fade away?

I had two NAD Purfi units in my house and neither stayed long.
Ran hot, glitchy and hardware issues. Have a 3020 I use out by the pool and it is okay., cheap and if it gets left out overnight and gets rained on who cares?

Class D has already taken over. There are more class D amps sold than all the rest combined by far and their market share is growing while the rest is shrinking. I'm sure boutique brands will be available to those that want them.
Yes and more Corollas are sold by Toyota than Supra’s .

Perspective….
How many who've commented negatively on Class D have heard the Technics SU-G700 in their system?
Have you? @nonoise .

The way you are ranting about the Technics SU-G700 you are sounding a lot like a guy that many belittle for his passion for a specific brand in this forum.

@nonoise all you are is noise.
Only child is you and yes I see ranting.
So lets agree to disagree and leave it at that Oh Pius One.

Enjoy those speaker cables......
@nonoise that is just my opinion.
BTW you did not answer the question.
Have your heard it in your system, you know that Technics Integrated you are ranting about.

@tvad yes you are right he is raving. And one could say a certain person on this forum does the same. No?
May not like the tack of the jib.....

I am so sorry for using the wrong terminology.
So the question is still unanswered.

It’s looking more and more apparent that your avatar is a selfie.

And yours is of the small pond you are a big fish in.

Class D is great for my outdoor system in the backyard.
Listening when swimming or having a cookout. Not critical listening.
@nonoise  Not going to happen buddy. Guarantee your little pond is so polluted you are the only lamprey that could survive though you are more eel like.
Juneteenth funny. How did you know I am a Black American?
FYI my son was killed on Juneteenth 2 years ago in his R&P (police car you know the guys you hate) He was hit by an intoxicated driver ( high on meth).
Enjoy your evening I am going flying in our C210 need some tudes in my meter.

All Noise
All the best.

@nonoise You still have not answered the question.
As you are such a strong supporter of Class D Have you heard the Technics Integrated in your system?
Must have as you are raving about it.
Or are you going to keep bopping and weaving.

Think you need some Cl in your pond.

@nonoise you never answered the question.
Typical…..

You need to stop huffing your own fumes.

Later All noise Kamala, could use in in El Paso where there are no border issues.

Spin, Spin, Spin All Noise All The Time.

Composing compost as that is what comes from your cesspool.
You really should get a life.

Later All Noise and yes you are a racist.
@nonoise I am back and only a fool drinks and fly’s.
Multi Engine Commercial and it is only a hobby.

So Capisce you are a small fish in this pond son.

I am not being stupid unless you feel asking a question is stupid and yet you still have not answered it.
Please do not call me stupid a BSME and a MSCHEME and an MBA say otherwise.
Like I said big fish in a small pond and that this forum is your pond.
Thank you for being respectful of our son.
Lets end this. I do not like you would rather play with rattle snakes than listen to you.

@nonoise You are right I am a bully.
Hope you feel better, really I am concerned as this has effected your psyche.

Hope you are back soon.
Really all the best.
Pukeofearl. :)
@thecarpathian. Thank you spell check gets me all the time.
I will refrain.

Cheers.
Unstable?

all I did was ask a question and you keep coming at me.

You started name calling and digressed even further.

Only bully is you and your persistent attacks.

Big fish little pond and it appears to be getting smaller.

I will no longer play your hate game. Save your energy composting a retort as no one cares, least of all earlthepearl eating his goulash with a dingo.

Need to go do my CAP duty.

Regards

EF
I did audition a Rouge Pharaoh prior to the pandemic.
Opted for the 340ix with SF Olympicas.
Pharaoh was just not doing it for me.
@twoleftears could not get the page to load. Might be static or noise in the data link....
So back on topic.
As I said earlier I have bought a couple of Class D units by NAD and had kept one for out on the deck.

The M-10 I had firmware issues  and ran real hot.

Would like to try one of the Cantor tubed hybrid class D's though, on paper they look interesting.
May just buy a Technics G-700 to hear how it sounds in my system
Best regards
earlflynn (the one and only)

@nonoise  or actually All Noise.
All our post were deleted.
You should really stop with these attacks.

I am not hiding and I have been involved with CAP for 20 years and have helped save 31 lives. What have you done?

pukeofearl, all Admin has to do is put everything back up and it would show just how big a liar you are. Now you're hiding behind deletions and hoping those who've already read them won't speak up.

@tvad all I did was ask a question.
@fiesta75 I really do not need any friends like the Pius @nonoise. I live in the real world not some little pond.

Well time to go,  have to run another simulator.

@rocray It is kinda like the Ford vs Chevy, Ferrari vs Lamborghini, Ducati vs Honda (Ducati wins every time).

People like what they like and can be quite passionate about a brand or a system.

I learned to fly in J3 and love tail draggers with a high wing, others swear by low wing tricycle I gear AC.

It’s what you know and what evokes passion, emotion, loyalty.

Not numbers on paper or noise in a forum or trade rag.

Just my take.
@nonoise as a Black American I take offense in your racist remarks and will be taking this up with Agon.

Also I deleted those posts no one else. I was out of line and apologized. So now you have stepped off with racist comments and there is no coming back from that.
 You are a child.

f
or revenge at losing so many arguments. Keep your Dingos away from him when he's like this folks, or he'll be up on charges again.

As for earlthepearl, how can we forget the noble fight he put up in defense of the defenseless, which got all his posts deleted last time around. Seems that revenge is the rage with these losers.

@nonoise . No not at all only thing unraveling is you.

Such a child.

later dolt.
@rh67 thank you. I find being narrow minded very limiting and will not throw the baby out with the proverbial bath water, due to failures by other manufacturers.

@invalid.FYI.  These guys claim that wattage doubles (close enough) at 4ohms.

Pathos Classic MK III
Specifications

Type: Integrated amplifier in Class A/AB, hybrid circuit with input tube stage, bridgeable
Output Power: 2 x 70 W @ 8 Ohm, 2 x 130 W @ 4 Ohm, 180 W @ 8 Ohm in bridged mode (mono)
Inputs: 1 balanced XLR, 4 unbalanced RCA
Frequency response: 2 Hz - 100 kHz
THD: <0.05%
Signal/noise ratio: 90 dB
Input impedance: 100 kOhm

Pathos LOGOS

The Logos uses MOSFETs in the output stage, known for their tube-like transfer characteristics, in a design that attempts to come sonically as close as possible to Pathos’ patented InPol circuitry. InPol is the only amplifier design, hybrid or solid-state, that gives the full glory of a tube amplifier but with control. Look at the numbers: 110 watts per channel into 8 ohms, and an amazing 220 watts into 4 ohms, with full bandwidth

Or it is just validation in your mind.
Not saying that as a disparaging comment I felt the same way with a couple of Class D amps till they showed their true nature.
I decided Class D is great for out on the deck, cheap and do not care if it gets wet.
Like what you like and be satisfied. If you are coming here for validation good luck with that.
Dead bodies attract dead bodies.

@mglik What is your current Class D? Not wanting to sift through this thread. Just curious.
Class D amps seem poised to take over. Then what?
Skynet will take over and we will all be servants to the robot kingdom. Forced to listen to Industrial Tranzsedentic Music for the rest of our existence.

John Conner let us all down.

Happy Independence Day.

like what you like who cares what others think.
@mglik Thank you for the information. I am going to try and demo them and see if I can audition in my system.
I like to try things and see for my self. If they don't work out I sell them here...
Can only formulate an opinion based on first hand information and I never base it on a spec sheet alone.
If I did I would have never purchased the greatest sounding non up-scaling DAC on the planet. BP SE-i
