Aside from the sound (which really is the most important thing), give some thought to resale value. While I'm not familiar with Border Patrol or Audion, I know that the Cary 805s are an iconic product and I hope to have a pair of them someday myself. Since this will probably not be an inexpensive purchase, the Carys will give you the assurance that when you try to sell them, there will always be someone willing to buy them. FWIW
