Interesting question. While 85% of the sound in home theater comes from the center channel… one is highly distracted from the sound by the video. When listening to two channel… you are completely immersed in the sound… so, upgrading these make sense. So, I think, unless you notice the difference, it probably does not matter. Speaker voicing differences are big enough to definitely be a problem, but I doubt this is going to be noticeable.
Center channel inter connect cable.
I recently upgraded my Audioquest inter connect cables for my front mains in my hybrid stereo/5.1 system to Pegasus from Earth. Although I listen to 2 channel 75% of the time, I also enjoy 5.1 Blu-ray concerts and audio. How important is it to use the same cable for the center channel speaker? I still am using an Earth cable for the center channel speaker.
