CDP Clock Replacement - did you upgrade yours ???

I recently asked if anyone had upgraded their CDP with the LC Audio LClock X03. I really would like to know what clock upgrade you have performed to your CDP, what you are hearing and was the upgrade worth it. Also, what other CDP upgrades do you think were worth the expense.

Thanks and Happy Listening.

I actually lost the Marantz SA7S1 SACD/CDP and DAC combo and went for a transport/clock and DAC combo, then upgraded the cables. Yes, it was a complete change (with the exception of the DAC) and the end result was more than well worth it. The CDP portion of the rig now consists of the following;

Snake River Audio (henceforth referred to as SRA) Cottonmouth PC to an Esoteric P-02 transport, clocked via a SRA Takshaka digital cable from a Mutec REF10 SE 120 Master Clock and SRA Signature PC. From the transport out, another SRA Takshaka digital cable into a ANK4.1 Pro DAC with a SRA Signature Series PC, then into my Canary C-800 MKII pre via a set of SRA Takshaka IC’s.

Yes, it was a hefty investment and honestly, I didn’t like the sound that came from the transport, as it wasn’t linear across all frequencies (in my system) and the sonic presentation was somewhat disappointing to me. With the swap out from a SRA Signature to a SRA Cottonmouth PC, and the addition of the Takshaka digital cables (from an Audiolund Extreme Silver and Boomslang), the sound had dramatically changed.

The difference between that and the Marantz was not even close. Like an apples to oranges in comparison sonic differences, ALL for the better. That Mutec REF10 SE 120 did the Esoteric a world of good, along with the specific cabling used. FWIW.
