cary sl 94 compared to cary sl 98

i am considering the purchase of a preamp. i owned and sold a cary slp 94. a good friend has advised me to consider the slp 98 or sl 98.

has anybody compared the slp 94 and slp 98 ? if so what differences do you hear ?
