I have noticed that a lot of manufacturers use small capacitors in parallel with the power switch. Is this to prevent arc at the switch or soft start the amplifier? Thanks for your thoughts, Guycom
This reduces arcing damage to the switch contacts, particularly when the unit is turned off. It can also prevent pops that can be heard through the rest of the system!
