I have the 809 DC's, part of an all Canton Vento system, and the sound is very smooth and musical with tight bass, I really like them though they have been in boxes for several months now due to a revolving door of speakers at my home.
They will benefit from a sub as they don't go as low as I'd like, and the Vento sub blends very well with them.
