thanks, using the ’link’ worked.

What is not working as it always did, was a simple ’copy and paste’ of a link. Others here have said they are having trouble also.

I never knew that button existed, or what ’link’ meant, it does not say ’insert’ link, just as the photo icon does not say ’insert’ photo.

btw, I have been messaging back and forth with support, (32 messages since 3-2-24) no one mentioned the link button.

how do you change a link from 20 lines of jibberish to i.e.’here is a link’ as you did above? Takes up a lot less space in a post.

I have said before, blocking sharing personal contact information is insulting. It should be changed.

the new popup ads are annoying, but I figure the site is free, let them make some money somehow. 

I now write in word, edit, then copy and paste, but I need to delete/replace any links in the word original.

that way, if lost, my work is not lost.

Another problem, sometimmes I cannot edit, even text, the cursor refuses to be inserted, like if I want to go back and delete the extra m in sometimes, it just won't let me.

others have this problem occasionally?

 I use a PC with Chrome browser. I have been posting links successfully for years, until the last few months. I haven't changed anything, same settings with Norton

"Use the insert URL button." (when in a post window: top bar, 3rd from right)

1. copy the url that you want to post (from eBay, Amazon, any url)

2. in your post, click on the link symbol, a drop down box waiting for you to paste the url into.

3. click YES, DONE

and I figured out what noromance meant about simply naming the link.

top box of link: display text, write what you want

paste the url in the url box

hit yes

only the display text you entered appears in the post, all the gibberish is hidden

one work around is to finish your post without the link. ’post your response’.

then edit your post right away, (gear icon, top right: drop down menu, edit

add the link at the bottom of the original post.
