Can DirectTV remote work with my Cambridge system?

I recently was given a Cambridge SoundWorks system (ASV550), but I can't get it set up with my DirectTV remote. The two devices won't communicate. I have gotten the codes off the Internet, and I can at least get the receiver to turn on, but that's it. Any ideas?
