Can anyone tell me about CD demagnatizers?

Do they make a difference? If so what sort of difference do they make? Are they worth paying say $150 for?

My guess is that Auric should be more durable than Armor All, Rainex, Novus, etc. which are more of a liquid than a coating. Sean and others have measured higher error rates reading CD's with the paint around the edge and is not recommended anymore.
