Can Any MSB Premier Dac Owners Chime In???

Greetings, My system consists of Joseph Audio Pearl 20/20 Speakers (graphene midrange) Classe' CA M600 Monoblocks, Classe' Sigma SSP Pre (only used in 2 channel bypass mode) PS Audio Directstream Dac and Memory Player...6 Furutech Dedicated circuits, Cardas Cabling...All Furutech Power cables....I think that's it? If we ever get back to normal I will Demo a MSB Premier Dac...Any MSB Premier Dac owners that can share their experience about this unit? The Directstream is a very good Dac, I'm looking for more detail...Thanks...John

The Discrete is excellent, it could be all the dac anyone will ever need. I love mine..With that said I am moving up to the Premier. Not even sure why because the Discrete never leaves me wanting more. It's much more of a I can do it so I will thing. Personallly I'd go straight to the Reference if I could. But I have spent some big money on other parts of the system recently to keep it all balanced out. Discrete is a phenomenal DAC.

I wanted to revive this thread, as I'm curious how good the Discrete is-  I have my sights set on the Reference, but before I spend big dollars, I thought I'd get my feet "wet" with the discrete and see if I like the sound.

Source is a Naim Audio HDX.
2TB HDD that rips and stores bit perfect CD’s as WAV files, also serves iRadio from my Router.
I was asking @rfc who is running that other thread, but good to know. Also by source I meant things like Streamer, CD player, or anything the MSB DAC is fed by.
I have a MSB The Premier DAC, basic set up only - only 1x Discrete Power Supply and using coax input, XLR out direct into active ATC speakers.
Now almost up to 200 hours break in, I “think” it has improved a bit since I posted my last thoughts on it. More detail and the soundstage has opened up further. Still slightly recessed vocals & the bass is not that deep/punchy, but it’s better than before.

Give me another few days and I’ll add another update.

LOL!!! That's funny!

I could not afford the Premier, so I got the Discrete (one level down, half of the MsRP of the Premier). With the optional second discrete power supply and the ProISL USB module.

I am very happy with the Discrete, and to tell you the truth, since I bought it about a year ago, for the first time I feel zero interest in trying other DACs. Before that, I had owned about a dozen other DACs, including your PS Audio DSD.

Reach out to @rfc , a recent owner, who has posted his experience here:

@thyname and @mikelavigne are MSB owners also...
If you still do cd or pcm redbook and don’t bother with dsd, then go the MSB (which still does dsd), direct into your Classe’ monoblocks.
