Can Any MSB Premier Dac Owners Chime In???
If you still do cd or pcm redbook and don’t bother with dsd, then go the MSB (which still does dsd), direct into your Classe’ monoblocks. https://www.msbtechnology.com/dacs/premier-dac-features/ Cheers George |
Reach out to @rfc , a recent owner, who has posted his experience here: https://forum.audiogon.com/discussions/msb-vs-dcs-bartok @thyname and @mikelavigne are MSB owners also... |
LOL!!! That's funny! I could not afford the Premier, so I got the Discrete (one level down, half of the MsRP of the Premier). With the optional second discrete power supply and the ProISL USB module. I am very happy with the Discrete, and to tell you the truth, since I bought it about a year ago, for the first time I feel zero interest in trying other DACs. Before that, I had owned about a dozen other DACs, including your PS Audio DSD. |
I have a MSB The Premier DAC, basic set up only - only 1x Discrete Power Supply and using coax input, XLR out direct into active ATC speakers. Now almost up to 200 hours break in, I “think” it has improved a bit since I posted my last thoughts on it. More detail and the soundstage has opened up further. Still slightly recessed vocals & the bass is not that deep/punchy, but it’s better than before. Give me another few days and I’ll add another update. |
The Discrete is excellent, it could be all the dac anyone will ever need. I love mine..With that said I am moving up to the Premier. Not even sure why because the Discrete never leaves me wanting more. It's much more of a I can do it so I will thing. Personallly I'd go straight to the Reference if I could. But I have spent some big money on other parts of the system recently to keep it all balanced out. Discrete is a phenomenal DAC. |
