I realize how old this thread is BUT.....my Yamaha CD player offers XLR outs but my Integrated offers only RCA inputs. Might there be a sonic improvement to using my XLR Cardius adapters to go RCA in? Or does this screw the signal up? I know....try it but scared of damaging something.

Can a bulk wire such as mogami that is terminated with balanced ends be reterminated with rca's ?
