I was a none believer until recently. I was using homemade speaker cables using audioquest type 8 wire at 5 feet. Interconnects are 15 feet of Canare /Nutech xlr. My system is magnepan 20.7 with krell amps and AR Ref 5 pre. I auditioned AQ Comet speaker cables and Colorado xlr's. Frankly I thought wire was wire but yes I heard a difference. The speaker cable was maybe 1% difference but the xlr is rather big. I cannot listen to the Canare anymore. It's muddy. I still do not want to spend this kind of money even though I can swing it. So a compromise. AQ Rocket 88 speaker wire and Columbia xlr. Should be decent, I spend about half the money so let's me rationalize the purchase.
