Cables for sme 30/2

Does changing the power cord to the power supply of a sme 30/2 table with Lyra etna sl catridge affect the tone of the table .

Just like throwing a blanket over the speakers. Just kills the dynamics of the system.. Noise sucks, BUT too much of the wrong kind of shielding really sucks.. Regards
