I inventoried all the clothes hangers in my home and found quite a variety of "gauges" which would have to be taken into account if I could figure out impedances relative to copper or silver wire. My foremost problem, though, is that none of these wire hangers unwind far enough to reach my speakers. Another potential drawback would be that coat hangers are not insulated, so they would be fairly effective antennae for attracting ambient EM "noise."
