Buying used from Canada

Hi, if you are based in USA and you buy used hifi from Canada do you get taxed on it when it arrives?  Talking about $2000ish.  Or if you use fed-ex will it come straight through?  Thanks for your time

No idea when we started to collect sales tax on used good, but we are now doing it ...

In the US, used goods have been subject to sales tax for as long as I've been around.

... it is not "fiction". Look it up ...

It’s an extreme claim. It’s false.

Canada has had sky high tariffs on American goods for decades, some as high as 250%.

Here is a complete list of the tariffs Canada collects on US goods.

That's fiction. Propaganda, really.

Yup as I thought. Prior to 2025 when I received goods from Canada via USPS I never paid Duties or taxes. Can't say what will happen in 2025 ...

Oh thank you, yes, to be clear, my transactions were years ago. I have no idea what the process would be like today.

... how were those items shipped?... Value?

USPS and Canada Post. Value was a few thousand, IIRC.
