Buying from Europe

Anyone with experience buying used from Europe on Audiogon or other markets? Are there tariffs or other extra charges? Any suggestions of how to do due diligence?

And of course it all depends on how the seller lists price and items on their paperwork. I have bought numerous vinyl from Europe and a couple of phono cartridges from Japan. All with zero issues, most expensive was a cartridge at $869, technically some tarrif but I was never asked for any additional funds from anywhere.
