georgelofi But, why listen at all? Do you need your amp on to burn in a phono stage? |
Georgelofi wrote, "You shouldn’t be anywhere in the same room when any "burn in" tracks are being played, as your hearing will be "notched out" for quite a while after at those "burn in" frequencies. If you are, then the results will be "wow there is a difference" when you replay some music." Chaulk one up for the headphone dudes! Tis far better to be burned in than burned out. |
fluffers: The AudioDharma is simply the best cable conditioner currently available. I think it is very much worth the price. The conditioning Cd's are useful but in no way should they be considered more than a supperficial tune up. To really maximize a system I use the AudioDharma 3 x a year, the Hagerman FryCorder 3-6 x a year, and a Cd treatment disc daily. The Frycorder treats the wires in the house's A/C circuit back to the transformer. The AudioDharma is the most powerful unit available and can also treat the ground wire. No other unit does this. The treatment CD is a quick dusting of the system (mine is the Isoteck CD). The above approach is the most comprehensive one I am aware of. David Pritchard |
It’s not the same. The amount of voltage from your CDP, preamp, amp is much lower than a cable cooker. A cable cooker can generate a continuous high-current thru the cables. Some good info... http://www.enjoythemusic.com/magazine/equipment/0404/audioharma.htm I think using the Purist CD may be worthwhile due to the wide range of frequencies it will generate. But many music CDs are also good for burn-in when you let them play on a continuous loop. |
