Burmester 218.....

I am glad to see Burmester is being talked about on these forums, they are superb gear in my opinion.

if you haven't had the chance to hear the 218 do yourself a favor and take a listen, I started my Burmester journey with a 956mk2, upgraded to a 911mk3, upgraded to the 216 and have now settled on the 218

going up a level with each amp they all got better, more dynamics, deeper/wider soundstage better control, you name it, drastically better.  the speed and dynamics of the 218 is as good as I have heard in quite some time

just wanted to share some of my journey and joy of owning Burmester, highly recommend.

@zuesman an I assume you have compared both?  I doubt it, also why do you care and why are you being an ass, better than Burmester, that's your opinion which means very little to me, have a good one

@zuesman BS, an I really dont care, I have listened to many SIM amps/pre combo. if you like that sound more power to you but do not say I would be disappointed, ill keep my Burmester ref system, you enjoy yours, later

@zuesman you need to grow up, you like sim, ww get it, enjoy it but crapping on threads is childish, but whatever floats your boat

@zuesman according to Burmester website there is 1 dealer in Canada, you mention all the dealers, hmmmm

keeping digging

@zuesman move on already, you are full of crap, I doubt you have heard the 218 and sim on same system, an now you mention the 216 in a post, again, BS, what dealer has this on display so one can hear the sim vs 216 vs 218 on same system, etc, plz let me know who you dealt with an the shop, I may wanna take a listen.

alls good tho, I just got my 2nd 218 and am thrilled, will be another week tho before I install it.

also, glad you are enjoying your sim, they do make some nice stuff. by the way, you wouldn’t be a vette owner by chance

@zuesman who was the dealer?  I still call BS that you demo'd them together, who is the dealer, simple question that should have a simple answer

an bmw, that explains alot, later

@zuesman like I said, you are full of crap and your "story" makes zero sense.  you buy your dream amp sim 861 which is pretty new to the market so you haven't had it long, in your opinion it does everything right and very well spent money.  but than I guess you are in the market for another amp, so lets drag your amp to the mystery dealer and compare it for hours along with your cables in there store, yea, that's believable, most folks would have given a deposit and compare the amp in there own house, but than again..........by the way, you clearly think your sim is the best on the market or among the best, why did you drag it to a dealer to compare it, in 35 years of being in this hobby I have never dont this, pretty odd but we both know you won't have an answer

@zuesman again, dodge the question, why did you feel the need to drag your magnificent amp to a dealer and audition for hours, simple question, that amp is new to the market, legit question

@zuesman LOL, no intention to buy, you just wanted to compare, not much of a life there buddy and wasting a salesman time and energy, but again, we both know this is a fairytale, enjoy your amp and have a nice weekend, im off to my dealer, gonna compare my Burmester to there amps to convince myself I made the right decisionwink

@zuesman sorry, but you are full of crap, your story never happened,

I do agree tho, if there was a buzz than the review should have been cancelled until they got replacements,

also, they have a service center in Atlanta if there was to be issues, so not very difficult, Burmester is one hell of a company to do business with unlike many others

enjoy the Sim, im sure its a nice amp

@zuesman give it a rest, u have the best amp every built, most reliable by far, best company as well, bravo, Sim has never had an issue with any products, that's amazing and im glad you are so technical being a CATV guy, impressivesurprise

im sure its a giant killer, it has taken down Burmester, now search for ch precision, solution, angostino, gryphon, etc etc and disrupt there conversations with this same story

@jastralfu because he's an angry troll

but back to Burmester, they are wonderful IMO, I have a full reference system and I enjoy it greatly, have owned many of the top tier brands and IMO nothing compares, if you have the chance to take a listen its definitely worth it IMO.

@zuesman you need to double up on your meds, Santa not coming to your house with this behavior

@zuesman its my thread/topic, you are the one that should go, we get it, Sim is the best, Burmester is overpriced crap, got it.  reality is I bet you have never heard the Burmester, like I said before, makes zero sense to drag your amp to compare with something you have no desire to own, ive read some of your other post, you are the guy that is telling everyone they are wrong and you are right, how to spend there money to enjoy there system, you can can spend so much less and have superior sound, blah blah, blah

reality, Burmester is a superior product over sim, end of story.  does sim make a great product, yes, but is it better than Burmester, NO.  I know, Burmester has around 15 dealers in the USA compared to so many Sim dealers, means nothing other than Burmester is much more exclusive about there dealers and lets face it, there's fewer dealers because of price, supply and demand, alot more demand for lower priced gear since many more can afford it, that's simple economics.

I hope you have a great holiday cause you seem like a miserable person always trying to prove yourself on this forum under several other names, enjoy your cables, sim and monitor audio, im sure its a nice system for you and your family

@zuesman who did you deal with, love to chat with them and get there view and thoughts on this comparison you did, now of course you know if this really happened you would say the dealer and name of sales person etc, that would really prove your point and make me wrong and I will apologize to you for calling you out, now, of course you know you will never say it cause it never happened, its my job to find out, not really, I could careless, I am overly happy with my system and can say I am finally done after my latest upgrade of a cartridge for my 175TT

you are not a Burmester customer, it will always be overpriced etc cause you simply dont have it and never will, enjoy your sim, the music is really all that matters at the end of day, not getting the last word and trying to push your thoughts and purchases on others like you have in all your other post, my cables are better, monitor audio is this and that, sim is a giant killer, blah blah

this is my last response to you until you name the store and the sales guy, but again, this will never happen and I doubt that any dealer would allow this to happen with a comparison like this, they have everything to lose and nothing to gain, why would anyone let someone compare a $22k amp with a $70k amp, that's 2 different customers,

final closing on this, you re full of crap and a story teller, ill be waiting for that dealers name etc

@zuesman no you can't, but its all good, what salesman did you speak to?

also, you are still full of crap!!!!!!!!

@zuesman well I bit on it, I just called hifi centre in Vancouver, asked if they had a 216 or 218 on display/demo, guess what, they have sold a few but have never displayed them, special order only, fairytale over, you are an f'n liar.

an before you call BS on me, anyone can call them, they answered on 2nd ring and our convo lasted about 45 seconds, oh, im sure you dealt with the "other" Burmester dealer that's not listed on the Burmester site but has there products, get a life, now im officially done, I would be surprised if you even have a sim 861 and monitor audio speakers

aww @zuesman  why did you delete the post with you asking me to post my system so we could repair, again you are so full of crap, go away now plz

@zuesman  I really appreciate the advice, here some for you, you may want to spread your speakers a littler further apart, they will image better, I would also look at replacing your esoteric, excellent brand but aurender/dcs/new esoteric will kick its ass, you may also look at replacing the sim amp/pre with boulder, angostino, ch, solution, gryphon, etc much better amps/pre, you should really do your research before giving others advice, just a thoughtsmiley
