Bully pulpits

It’s pathetic that so many alleged audiophiles use a hobbyist site like Audiogon as a bully pulpit to express political or conspiracy opinions. Thank you for spoiling so much of what an enjoyable hobby forum used to be.

So it's the timing that upsets you and leads you to come to this conclusion?  Notice how you cleverly tried to maintain neutrality by saying it doesn't matter which side one takes. Sounds like you were looking for an excuse to get your licks in.

As for me, it was applauding the tone and temper of the post, which seemed to put an end to this exercise until you posted so negatively.

@dabel

Love the Vikings reference.
Haven't heard it in ages.

On that note, I've saved up my hard earned retirement money to get the new Technics SU-G700M2 when it come out (hopefully) this month. Some of the tech from the SU-R1000 trickled down to it and I can't wait to hear it.

Nah, they need to keep the media imbed feature as it’s working wonders. Just look at all the whining being done about it. It’s one thing to banter in print but to park them in the cheap seats with a caption is.......priceless!

dabel, thanks for the props.........I think. 🤔

Blow up the dc cartel and global elites and we might be able to get back our world for we the people.

Now we're loud and proud anarchists.
Great.

And when you pay them no mind, they congregate, solidify their positions and wreck havoc on society.

Yes, even in an audio forum.

So typical of jerry, or is it therealearlflynn, or is it skypunk, to miss the entire point.

Instead of posting something worthwhile... Why do you keep posting weird graphics? Or just insult people?

How do you know what I listen to or watch? Just because I don't agree with a lot of the stuff that you post?

I'm just using humor to embarrass the tools. Shame used to have some currency but now it's getting useless as they embrace it wholeheartedly.

I've tried, in the past, to meet their arguments head on and it went no where and accomplished nothing other than ticking them off even more with them citing my posts as politically charged and/or inflammatory when it was nothing more than a response to theirs.

Case in point was a thread that was closed a few days ago. In it were lots of politically charged posts that I refused to engage in save for my use of humorous GIFs to shut them up with. This went on and on and on and not a single person complained of the politics.

Then it got to where a certain someone started posting vulgar and tasteless GIFs and claimed to one up me. Mine was to say it wasn't a competition (agains with a GIF) and also not for the same reasons. His next was a GIF of Rump dancing spastically with "winning" across the screen so finally, I stooped to his level and posted one of Rump in a not so flattering way.

That's when they pounced. That 1st GIF supporting Rump was up for over half an hour with no one complaining but after my rebuttal, it tool just over 2 minutes and it was break out the smelling salts and get ready the fainting couch along with a hefty dose of I'm getting case of the vapors! There was indignation at the new system allowing such behavior and lamentations of my posts.

Do you see the hypocrisy at play? The one sided nature of it all from those who think this is their safe place and no one else can express themselves? That they're perfectly fine with topics of hate and slander as long as it's from their POV?

That's why I've resorted to the use of GIFs. Pictures can speak a thousand words and these are cretins that need some humor thrown back in their faces like a bucket of cold water on a misbehaving critter. I'm thick skinned enough to take it and so should any adult who professes to be one.

It never ends and just keeps repeating itself, over and over and over,

 Controls is an end-all word. HAARP electromagnetic waves stimulate geophysical changes that can modify the weather as in earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, hurricanes and such. It HAS been shown. Also I hate to burst that bubble you live in, but more and more are waking up to the complete hoax that is NASA. Wise-up wise guy. 😄

Hey folks, we have some James Bond level stuff going on, or is it Austin Powers level stuff? This is so confusing.

yep - "Let's go Brandon!"

@nonoise

not sure about the past, but it sure has flipped - whatever you want to call them, democrats, liberals, socialists, communists, cancel culture, technology elitists, etc. are the ones stomping out / censoring free speech, thought, and an exchange of ideas.

I thought that democrats were the ones that protected free thought and were against "the man." Now they (the democrats) are "the man" and try to shutdown any thought that does not align with theirs.

So typical to do the things you accuse others of and simply swap out who's doing it as a matter of deflection. Did you learn that from watching Tucky on Animal Channel? You know, the guy who went to break bread with Viktor Oban, the last self professed dictator in Europe? Tucky wants to bring that back here to America.

You can work for their propaganda channel if they ever overturn our government. And keep up with the infantile chants: they suit you to a tee.

                 Posts Matters!

In other advanced countries, politics is openly discussed as much as any other subject and has been since, forever. It's not frowned upon and merits one jumping up on the table and raising their skirts shreeking, "mouse!"

The topic of politics and religion became verboten back when movement conservatism (in it's nascent form) made it a cultural meme so as to keep people ignorant of what and how they were being hoodwinked.

It took William F. Buckley to finalize it and broadcast it out via the leading medium of it's time, TV, on Firing Line. The rest, they say, is history.
