The replacement unit also had headphone noise. I just got an IFI groundhog and connected it to the unit. I no longer hear any noise, so it looks to have resolved the issue.
Bluesound Node 2i - Headphone Noise
Hi everyone,
I recently purchased a new Bluesound Node 2i for streaming Tidal and Qobuz. To start with I'll be listening with my V-Moda headphones. I set the unit up without any issues and plugged my headphones into the 3.5mm front jack. I noticed a crackling sound before playing any music. I had a cheaper pair of in-ear headphones to hand so tried them and could still hear the noise.
Next I connected the unit to my AV receiver using a coax cable to check for noise through speakers, but there was none. I checked the headphones again with the AV receiver connected and there was no noise.
As soon as I disconnected the coax cable the noise came back in the headphones. I also noticed if I touched the coax out connector the noise stopped.
I've since sent the unit back to the vendor and they've agreed on a replacement. Hopefully I was just very unlucky and the replacement unit will be fine.
Has anyone else experienced this problem with a Node 2i ?
Thanks,
Andy.
